Hot Springs Pool Ponies Up $20K For Glenwood Whitewater Park

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLORADO (Post Time News)–The Hot Springs Lodge & Pool (HSLP)  pledged $20,000 toward the construction of the proposed $1.4 million whitewater park in west Glenwood Springs near the Midland Avenue Bridge on the Colorado River. In so doing, the Hot Springs company endorsed the idea put forth by the Whitewater Park Committee that such a park would attract kayakers like cattle to a trough.

“Park organizers, especially Joe Mollica, have worked tirelessly on this project.” said Hot Springs chief financial officer John Bosco, “and are as intent as ever to start construction as soon as possible.”

Bosco, in fact, has been working in concert with the Whitewater Committee since 2005 on the proposed park. A grant application will be submitted to Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) in February 2007 requesting $200,000 for the project. Plans are to undertake the project in two phases beginning December 2007.

The Hot Springs Lodge & Pool is located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, between Aspen and Vail, 165 miles west of Denver and 90 miles east of Grand Junction on Interstate 70 off exit 116 at 401 North River Road.
