Fifth straight sellout in the cards for all-local standup comedy troupe?

ASPEN – Ten local standup comics return to Pitkin County Saturday, Feb. 10^th at the Wheeler Opera House to share original insights into life, love, work and play in the Roaring Fork Valley.  Following their debut with two standing-room-only shows at the Aspen Eagles Club in October, the Laugh Your Aspen Off troupe filled two Carbondale venues in December and January, turning away scores of would-be patrons each time.

“We went to Carbondale on purpose to see if our Aspen angle would play well in a down-valley locale,” says Clifford Fewel, founder, producer and comic/emcee of Laugh Your Aspen Off.  “The positive response overwhelmed us, just as our unique local comedy caught many by surprise for its honesty, accessibility and fearlessness.”

The Laugh Your Aspen Off comics are: Beth Brandon, Don Chaney, Arthur Piubeni, Mark Thomas, Kevin Jordan, Alexa Fitzpatrick, Michael Yoder, Karbon, Mike Milota, Michael James Robinson, Frankie Safferwich and Founder/Comic/emcee Clifford Fewel.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with showtime at 8:00 p.m.  The cost remains $10 per person for the 18-and-over show.  Tickets may be purchased in advance after 10 a.m. 1/22/07 at the Wheeler Box Office or online at www.wheeleroperahouse.com.

The LYAO troupe is sponsored by KSPN, The Aspen Daily News and Plum TV.  It remains under consideration by HBO for inclusion in the 2007 HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen Feb. 28-March 4, with a late-January announcement anticipated.  As with the most recent show at Thunder River Theater Company, the Wheeler show is sponsored by DCD Home magazine and DCDHome.com, which showcase contractors, architects, designers, artisans and home services for Aspen and environs.
