$500,000,000,000.00 to indulge Bush and the Neocons desperate efforts to control the levers of powerby draping the American flag over the killing of 50,000 Americans and another 3300 Americans, or $500,000,000,000.00 to actually do something about global warming. What to choose? OK I understand, there is an uncontained fire around your picnic burning and blowing toward you and family and a couple of ants invading your potato salad oh, and one stings your child, fire ants! What do you spend your efforts on? Get your family away from the fire or put the fire out — deal with the fire danger or stomp ants. That to me has been the choice we have had and we chose collectively incorrectly. I can’t imagine that anyone would think I voted for Bush or against Kerry or Gore, but just in case there is any question Bush never got my vote.
I consider his actions treasonous, and he should be impeached for the Iraqi quagmire, his idiotlogues (ideologues) have us in. His administration betrayed the well being of our nation, the trust of the citizens, and by his orders caused the deaths of American citizens — to cover his own maladministration’s ass.I wonder how many engineers, Ph Ds, what types of R&D, and applied solar/hydrogen power infrastructure could have been developed, for $500,000,000,000.00.? This jackass had to go to Brazil for ethanol, what? Does American culture require stupidity, is the American farmer too dumb to do it? We ought to have a strangle hold on alternative sources of power. Do the neocons really want our country run and at the beck and call of their Saudi friends and their allies?

typical empty Republican. you might be able to crawl up to Alpha or Mitchs toenails one day, and be an unusual republican or conservative; one who is willing to parry and thrust. Until then Chicken tender.

Easy boy, easy…. whoa horse… whoa! I recommend a double Crown Royale and coke. Sheesh.
And for what its worth, the American farmer, well, many of them, actually… yes, are involved in ethenol production. I’ve seen it first hand. In fact, I’m involved in a major cattle feedlot operation in Western Kansas that produces it’s own ethenol from corn and cattle bi-products. In fact, the 10% blended ethenol you get at pumps from Denver comes straight from the same outfit in western Kansas. — Jon

Jon,
our country will have to ferociously attack this problem, it is in our national interest and planetary interest.
