If you want to get the heck out of Aspen, get on over to Paonia for Cherry Days and the 4th of July Celebration. The Town Park fills up with music and crafts. There are activities going on for a few days, but Wednesday to me looks like the most fun. Here is a sampling of what is on offer, Wednesday, July 4th; 7-9 am Pancake Breakfast, 10 am Parade on Grand Ave, 10-4 Silent Auction in the Park, 10-6pm Arts, Crafts and Food Vendors in the Park, 11-6pm Music in the Park, Noon to Dark Carnival rides, Noon Skateboard Competition, Noon-4pm Car show, 1-2 Cherry Cobbler Contest, 1-4 Ice Cream Social, 7 pm Bull Riding, Dark Fireworks.
Wow! I am all over that. I love the way this small town parties. Bring a blanket and pull up to the grass.
