Basalt 7-11 Not Exactly Heaven

Comments online after gunshots were fired at the Basalt 7-11 and the clerk who wore a Border Patrol hat was fired by the company for what it called unrelated reasons:

“Maybe all of us who believe in law and order and America should wear Border Patrol Hats so there’s no mistake who’s who. Since they fired the good guy, you won’t catch me in that 7-11 ever again!”
“I have a cap with an American flag on it. Is it ok to wear that or am I just inviting trouble and bullets?… This is despicable and further proof that the country is a loss. I will never patronize another 7-11 while I walk this earth. I urge you to join.”

“Mexicans wave the Mexican flag, wear anti-American shirts, boo us at sporting events, steal from us through tax evasion and we can’t do anything about it. Man wears border patrol hat and the mexicans shoot up a store, luckily no one is killed. Man later fired for provoking incident .The only enforcement we will get is to arm ourselves and let the bullits fly!”

That makes two of us who won’t patronize the Basalt 7-11. One, because of their actions with regards to their employee and two for the incompetence of the Basalt PD which is only a block and a half, within visual distance from the 7-11.

If 7-11 was really concerned about the safety of its customers, why didn’t it offer a reward for information regarding the shooter which they have a picture of?? Why did they go after the employee, who it is not sure was even the cause of the attack? How do we know that it wasn’t one of their four day old hot dogs that tasted bad?

And how it is that Basalt PD made the statement that the perp is most likely not from the area, because the cop in charge knows most of the Hispanics in the area. Didn’t the guy that confronted the clerk say that he had seen the clerk walking around with the Border Patrol hat in town? Basalt PD, pay attention. This is called a “clue”. It means that this guy wasn’t a passer by and most likely lives in the area. “Clue” two; The guy was in the store late in the evening, ruling out one of the many construction crews that would frequent the place going to and from Aspen in the morning and returning between 5 and 7 in the evening. This is going to rank right up there with the fine job you are doing with regards to the sexual assault (which no progress has been made) that took place in your little town. If you can’t investigate your way out of a paper bag, get some help from other agencies. You are doing a dis-service to the community with you amateurish deductions and key stone cops procedures.

Hey Alpha, You must realize that the “border patrol ” hat offended certain members of a prominent ethnic group in our valley. You know that politically sensitive/left leaning community members actually believe the employee brought the shooting on by exercicing his first amendment rights. They no doubt believe this guy should spend more time learning about the cultural nuances of the Latino community. The shooting was HIS fault.

Sounds familiar to me. We should be more willing to understand why some of the 72 sects of “The Religion of Peace and Love” hate our culture so much. You know …9/11 was OUR fault.

Unbelievable! Evil is evil. Evil should be prosecuted wherever it exists by all means possible. Our freedoms and messy vitality do not cause evil. We spread freedom.

Funny how the left has trouble scoring evil acts vs. civi liberties. 7/11 is on my 9/11 list.
