Still Room for Two

Ink and papers, epic offers,

and a glass moon waltzing on the waters.

With a horse and carriage,

I was courting the marriage

of dreams in the wings,

of visions unseen.

I crossed my heart,

thinking only your love would do.

I crossed my heart over you.

There was room enough for two.

Now, inside,

it feels like a thunder.

I am spellbound,

and you have taken me under.

With gold and diamonds,

I forever said

I was in this forevermore,

and you should have been sure.

The gold and diamonds are still there

and there are more, and more….

I still want this forevermore,

and you can be sure.

I will cross my heart again.

There is still room for two.

And I can still cross my heart — over you.

  1. Mitch.Mulhall says:

    Very nice, Jon…

Looking in from a very long way off, what I can offer is amounts to bubkus. Still, I can’t help but think this will work out for you–in a way you haven’t imagined yet…

    God bless…
