Kick Your Shorts Off!

That’s right, AspenFilm is kicking off the 17th annual Aspen ShortsFest April 2nd – 6th! We’ve screened about 3500 short films from around the world representing nearly 30 countries and have chosen the best of the best for screening right here in Aspen. Filmmaker Magazine called Aspen’s ShortsFest, which is an Oscar-Qualifying event, “one of the most prestigious festivals devoted to short films in the world.”

DrBill is here and back at you sharing about film in Aspen and since Aspen’s ShortsFest is my favorite cultural event of any in Aspen . . . I’m aching with cinematic anticipation.

We’ve got free events, we’ve got educational opportunities, parties, documentary, comedy, animation, drama, filmmaker interviews, children’s programs, daytime shows, evening shows, weekday and weekend programming in Aspen and even some in Carbondale. Something for everyone of any age sex, schedule, up-valley, down-valley, or attitude and you just might be inspired to try your own hand at filmmaking. Come learn, laugh, cry and meet fellow film-fans.

New this year are student discounts for those 18 and under when ticket is purchased at the Wheeler box office with appropriate ID. All other tickets are available at the Wheeler, 320 E Hyman Ave., by phone 970-920-5770 or online at www.aspenshowtickets.com
Free daily Festival Lounge activities. Check www.aspenfilm.org each day for schedule.

See you next week at the Wheeler . . .
