Shakespeare in the Park

The Hudson Reed Ensemble announces its third annual free “Shakespeare In the Park” series held in the Galena Plaza Park directly behind the Pitkin County Library. Opening Wednesday, August 13, this year’s production is MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING which features a cast of fourteen and is directed by Ruth Leon a Shakesperian scholar and director from the U.K.

This wonderful comedy is the story of two very different couples that battle heroically against huge odds to find romance and happiness.

Set in the town of Messina in Italy, the play is populated by a cast of wonderfully oddball personalities who each lend their distinct stamp on the story as it unfolds.

The play has been shortened to play in just a little over an hour. It will perform Wednesday, August 13 and thereafter on Wednesdays and Saturdays: August 20, 23, 27, 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Families are encouraged to attend and bring a picnic if they wish.

Featured in the play are: Mike Monroney, Kathy Markle, Gary Morabito, Kent Reed, Kim Nuzzo, Tom Reynolds, Gerald DeLisser, Billy Eason, Logan Walters, Nicole Lee, Todd Hartley, Bill Hodges, Katriona Hembury and Greg Lamoureux
