In an Aspen Times special opinion piece, Bill Fabrocini and Lee Ann Vold enumerate ways concerned citizens can help the Krabloonik dogs. You can adopt retired sled dogs from the Aspen Animal Shelter, or donate money to allay the costs of medical treatment and neutering, or you can write to Department of agriculture officials and implore them to reconsider the tethering waiver regulation that permits dogs to be chained 24-7. But mostly, you can support the Puppy Mill Bill, which says “that no breeder, at any one time, shall maintain more than 25 unsterilized (not spayed or neutered) dogs…. Krabloonik currently has more than 280 dogs, most of which are not spayed or neutered.”
