Re: “In-state tuition dangles in reach of illegal immigrants” Denver Post, Hoover, 3/1/09

Colorado citizens that voted for State Senator Chris Romer to represent them and their interests committed an egregious error.  Today, Chris Romer, pushing for in-state tuition for illegal alien students–represents criminal alien parents and their children over the interests of Coloradan taxpayers and their families.

Instead of introducing bills to chase the estimated 500,000 illegal aliens out of Colorado by prosecuting employers, pushing for 287 G and impounding cars of illegals–Chris Romer writes bills that not only encourage criminal aliens to remain in Colorado, but assists those criminals with more benefits.

Colorado taxpayers foot a horrific educational bill, over and above any sales taxes criminal aliens pay, to the tune of $925 million annually to pay for criminal aliens’ children K-12 grade.  (Source: www.fairus.org, 2008, Breaking the Piggy Bank: how illegal immigration is sending schools into the red)  Colorado taxpayers spend an additional $68 million annually on programs for limited English students, most of them illegal aliens.

But it doesn’t end there!  The report added, “State funded uncompensated outlays for health care provided to Colorado’s illegal alien population amount to an estimated $82 million a year.  Additionally, Coloradans who have medical insurance also pay higher medical insurance bills to help cover the costs of those without insurance.”

Specifically, Colorado taxpayers shell out millions for anchor babies, assisted housing and free breakfast and lunch programs.

Added to the problem, because Senator Romer fails his constituents by not enacting laws to rid the state of criminal aliens, you pay $38 million annually to house over 7,000 criminal aliens in state prisons.

For his actions along with many other legislators, Colorado taxpayers watch $1.2 billion of their money fly out of their pockets year in and year out.

Romer said, “It’s critical to have an educated workforce.”

Except, Mr. Romer, an illegal alien graduating from our school system cannot legally be employed, except in his/her country.  Put that in your ‘righteous’ pipe and smoke it.

Denver Post Journalist Hoover reported, “Similar bills have been proposed before, but Romer said this time he has the backing of Republicans in the business community.”

When you read between the lines, it means all the employers of illegal criminal aliens continue making massive profits off their cache of 21^st century slave labor—but you pay the bills!  Remember that employing illegal aliens violates federal laws with fines of up to $10,000 per illegal and five years in prison.  Notice you won’t find Governor Ritter or ICE pursuing any methodical enforcement of the 500,000 illegals in Colorado.

Why do you think that don’t?  Corruption, corruption, and more corruption.  It’s a way of life, and, it’s gone on for so long, businesses that employ illegals like Swift, Vail Resort, construction, landscape, Brown Palace, Hickenlooper’s Cherry Cricket and most others think breaking our employment laws is normal.

Corruption remains against the law!  You can go to jail!

Underlying all that corruption, our own children fight for a decent education, but our Denver Public Schools fail them because of 85 languages in our classrooms from thousands of kids that degrade education with their own problems.  In a Rocky Mountain News article, May 16, 2005, “What Happened”—the report showed how 5,663 students started the 8^th grade at Denver Public Schools, but only 1,884 graduated.  That means 67 percent flunked or dropped out.  That poor educational setting remains today!

For one-third of our students that DO make it to college, they must take remedial courses because of the degraded academic conditions caused by thousands of non-English speaking students that wreck havoc in the classrooms.

Romer’s bill violates our integrity as taxpayers!  He violates his office to represent legal Colorado citizens and their children.  He violates our paying taxes to fund our schools for our children.  He displaces our students for students from a foreign country unlawfully within our country.  Romer’s actions prove wrong on every level.

Not only that, Romer encourages more lawlessness by more criminal aliens to bring more of their children into Colorado.  If he succeeds, and we end up like California with over three to four million criminal aliens, this state cannot and will not survive the numbers now manifesting in California, the corruption, the degradation of our school systems and worse—complete breakdown in education.

Romer’s actions show a man out of touch, out of sync, out of his league and in violation of federal laws.  It is against federal law to “Aid, abet, encourage, transport, house or assist an illegal alien to remain within the United States no matter what your personal conviction.”  USC 8,  Sec. 1374, 274, 275, 276, 277.

With over 265,000 Coloradans looking for work, tens of thousands on food stamps and energy assistance, along with 10,000 homeless in Denver’s streets, our schools cutting corners to fund themselves—maybe, just maybe—Senator Romer can stand up for Colorado voters instead of criminal aliens that shouldn’t be in this state.  How about Romer introducing bills to arrest, prosecute and jail employers of illegal aliens.  A bill like that would create an exodus of 500,000 criminal aliens that shouldn’t be here in the first place!

For Romer’s information, it’s called representative government by our elected officials and he took an oath to serve the US Constitution and Colorado’s Constitution, i.e., the citizens of Colorado, and the rule of law.

If he wants to represent criminal aliens and their kids—easy, move to Mexico and run for office down there!
