Just when we may have thought: Ah, spring!  More snow is falling in the Roaring Fork Valley!  Highway 82 and the streets in Aspen and the mid-valley are wet and slushy—-and more moisture is expected today.
 

Colorado health care providers are not expecting but are preparing for the possibility  of swine flu virus, after the world health organization declared an outbreak of the potentially fatal virus in Mexico….flights to that country have been curtailed but there is no certainty precautions can prevent the spread of swine flu to the U.S.¼br /> There are no cases in Colorado….but 20 confirmed cases have been reported, primarily in New York and Ohio. ¼br /> Instant Run off voting is used for the first time ever in Aspen’s history during this election season.       The candidates running for mayor and council will have alternate choices on the ballot—and instant run off voting is aimed a speeding the process and avoiding a costly second election.  IRV will be the focus of this week’s “News of the Future”—airing on our sister station TV Aspen on Friday morning at ten thirty—and again next weekend on Friday Saturday and Sunday nights at 10 p.m.   News of the Future:  Comcast cable channel 19, Resort Sports Network.
