Wednesday April 29, 2009 ¼br /> The number of swine flu cases in the U.S. has risen to nearly 70, and while no infections have been detected yet in Colorado, this is a serious health threat demanding the attention of all residents, says Governor Bill Ritter.

Even though the city of Aspen has no money to pay for more affordable housing, it does have the land—and a new proposal is considered to partner with local developers to build about two dozen additional units on land the city owns.
The race for mayor of Aspen will be decided next Tuesday, election day, and Marilyn Marks has now reached a point in campaign contributions that exceeds all the other three mayoral candidates.  Her first time try at elected office has taken in more than 27 thousand dollars—that’s more than twice the amounts received by all three opponents—incumbent Mick Ireland, Andrew Kole and L.J. Erspamer.  Most of the money will pay for political ads.
