Independence Pass Opens today, as does Maroon creek road to Maroon Bells –both popular access to our area for the throngs of visitors that are hope to arrive for the holiday weekend.
Water on the crystal river is nearly breaching the banks—and in aspen the roaring fork river is running so high that in neighborhoods bordering the Rio Grand trail—the water is beginning to creep up on lawns.
The use of the internet by minors is normal but there are dangers of predators online.  Although there are software programs out there that can offer some parental control over what you child sees and does on your computer—-the best defense costs nothing, says Pitkin County Juvenile Investigator Bruce Benjamin Benjamin….just maintain a clear and open communication with your child.
