Lance Armstrong Day! Aspen Mayor Mick Ireland suggested the honor at last night’s city council meeting—but other members of council including Dwayne Romero and Steve Skadron were cool to the idea—-Skadron saying Armstrong, who owns a nine million dollar home in town—–is only a part time resident and it may look like we’re trying to capitalize on Armstrong’s fame——maybe better to bring more attention to the race for the cure for example.
Ireland countered that by saying what better way to draw attention to cancer research than through a day honoring one of its most famous survivors? No decision was reached about the idea.

Going greener has to be good for your business—whatever it is. That’s the marketing plan behind Vail Resorts new goal of reducing its energy consumption six percent this year.
To do that—Aspen’s biggest competitor plans to go paperless within two years—-Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz says it will save the environment.
It will also save the company one million dollars annually on printers, paper and ink.
