How many times can you run a lawnmower over a dandelion and expect it to not come back as vibrant and green as before, ready to seed? Probably many times. Perhaps no dandelion has been exterminated by these means. Besides the ignorant use of pesticides (I’m sure YOUR DNA is immune to the chemical assault, so keep spraying), digging them out was the most effective way of solving this problem. Trimming the green part does nothing to get at the root of the problem.

At this level are the trimming experts; those who go on and on describing the features of the green parts, the stems, the seeds, the leaves, the composite flower and on and on. These are the FWs and McGarrys of the world. Then you have the one person, who simply goes to the root of this issue and digs it out — problem solved? Maybe, and this introduces a second layer in an onion type of Orwellian world; Why is the dandelion a problem in the first place? It isn’t. But it serves as a useful distraction from real issues; peak oil, global warming, education, planetary population, health care and a value adding economy — fundamental to the specialization necessary to support the present world population and its’ demands.

A fool equates a degree with an education. One is not a subset of the other, nor are they purely synonymous, there is a difference and fortunately there is an intersection. Some are highly educated whether they have a degree or not. Some are degreed, whether they are educated or not. Bush the shrub, FW and McGarry come off as those gifted with degrees, not as educated people. They are decisive trimmers and offer nothing but a fools paradise of distractions.

Our country, and the world is full of the distractors, indeed we are surrounded by them. They talk of degrees and yet have no education. To become educated, it is likely that everyone would have to unlearn everything they think they “know” in the social/demographic/cultural programming and environmental conditioning and then begin self education to understand.

So as a liberal surrounded by the lunatic fringes, all clamoring with expertise in trimming this or that “issue,” I ask, How do we as a species get to addressing the need, based on demand, for a value adding economy reducing parasitical diversions of capital to those who do nothing relative to what they do? How do we steamroll those who act to keep humanity shackled and yoked for their liesure. How do we give the FWs and McGarrys the impetus to educate themselves and see that the issue they coccoon themselves in snug comfort in, has a solution requiring introspective metamorphosis. How do we get the weltgeist to see disparity in “leadership” and economic standards as the drivers of human misery, and recognize these miseries as symptoms.

As I blogged before, FW is too chicken to take an IQ test. I stated that if he went head to head with Sue Gray, Mitch, Nathan or my self, he would lose. Even though all of us have serious disagreements, all of us are thinking. He is like an agenda on an 8 track tape — mindless recapitulations and repetitions of cherry picked statistics to affirm a house of cards. I still believe he can become educated, but right now Big Brother is in no danger of being scorned. On the other side this “noble savage” is not interested in hanging himself.
