The Eagle county District Attorney may have taken his lead from Pitkin County Commissioner Patti Clapper—-but Mark Hurlbert, is trying to get a voter question on the fall ballot to ask if term limits should be extended to allow three (four year terms) for a total of a possible 12 years—–for district attorneys——–instead of  the current two—four year terms.
Hurlbert—-like clapper—–points to experience as the issue not politics…

Teachers at the Aspen School District threw a thank you party to philanthropist Dick Butera on Monday—–Butera, for the past ten years, has supported the distinguished Teachers award —-recognizing about a dozen teachers each year for outstanding achievement in educating Aspen’s youth.
Since starting the program, Butera has made possible awards of ten thousand dollars each to stand out instructors. ¼br /> Teachers not only from the Aspen School District but from the Aspen Community School received the cash awards——The program ended this spring——–but the teachers nearly brought Butera to tears with their thank you party yesterday at Aspen High School.
