The issue of outdoor displays of goods, including bicycles and gear, came up at aspen city council meeting last night-.  There is an ordinance against displays like that, but the rules have been bent this past summer in efforts to spark the economy and boost tax revenues.  Merchants are considering all ideas to boost sales—including one, not well received by elected leaders, to put televisions in storefronts, running ads, or even X games footage, to draw in the business.
A winter storm watch now issued for parts of the central mountains for tonight.
Temperatures are getting colder earlier, say meteorologists and predictions by the Farmer’s Almanac, so far, appear to be accurate—for an early start to what have supposed to be a severe winter for 2009/2010.
