Starting next year, according to Glenwood Springs City Manager Jeff Hecksel, the payback begins –to the city—for $300 thousand dollars lent to the Downtown Development authority to spur business. 30 thousand dollars a year for the next ten years is the arrangement—as those making dollars go toward advertising the community making its way through the recession.
The city of aspen will also seek repayment of 400 thousand dollars in additional marketing funds recently approved for the Aspen Chamber to market the resort next summer.
Klaus Obermeyer’s birthday is today—the man known to nearly everyone in Aspen turns 90 today….the party at the sundeck at the top of the aspen mountain will see Klaus making his ski run—as he’s done on his birthday for decades. (happy birthday Klaus)! Alles Gute! (congratulations!) Klaus Obermeyer.
