YEFIM BRONFMAN PERFORMS FEBRUARY 19 AT HARRIS CONCERT HALL

His only appearance in Aspen in 2010

“He has technique to burn, but he also has a chameleon-like ability to subsume himself in the music. Rather than a cult of personality, his approach is about doing

what the composer wants, so much so that his performances sometimes seem understated.” New York Times

Aspen, CO — Grammy Award-winning pianist Yefim Bronfman is widely regarded as one of the most talented virtuosos performing today. His commanding technique and exceptional lyrical gifts have won him consistent critical acclaim and enthusiastic audiences worldwide, whether for his solo recitals, his prestigious orchestral engagements, or his rapidly growing catalogue of recordings. Bronfman returns to Harris Concert Hall for his only Aspen performance of 2010, Friday, February 19, as part of the Aspen Music Festival and School’s Winter Music Artist Recital Series.

The evening’s program includes Beethoven’s 32 Variations on an Original Theme in C minor, WoO 80, Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien, op. 26, Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 2 in D minor, op. 14 and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Sonata in G major, op. 37.

All Artist Recital concerts begin at 7:30 PM in Aspen’s 500-seat Harris Concert Hall (960 N. Third Street, Aspen, CO). Single tickets are available at the AMFS Harris Hall Box Office, by calling 970-925-9042, or online at www.aspenmusicfestival.com. Winter Music also includes Grammy Award-winning violinist James Ehnes’ Aspen debut, Saturday March 13. He will be joined onstage by pianist Orion Weiss.

The AMFS also presents an intimate “Evening of Music and Musings” benefit performance with Bronfman on Wednesday, February 17 at 6 p.m. The evening will begin with cocktails, followed by a short performance and conversation with Mr. Bronfman, and a buffet dinner. A limited number of tickets are still available from the box office at 970-925-9042 for $250 per person.
